Getting Yoga Certified

Getting yoga certified was such an incredible experience for me.  It was both, physically and mentally challenging, but so rewarding.  I learned so much about myself and how I can use yoga and meditation in my everyday life.  I was able to learn the "BE foundation series" and become certified through BE Hot in St. George, Utah.  I started my journey on January 9th, 2015 where I participated in the certification classes every Friday and Saturday until February 28th, 2015.  The requirement to become yoga certified is 200 hours, and once those were complete, I was able to register with Yoga Alliance.  Yoga Alliance is a nationally and world recognized association that all yoga instructors must go through in order to be recognized as a yoga instructor.  I became a registered yoga teacher in May 2015.  Below are a few photos from my time getting certified.

These are the books I received when I first signed up for my classes.  We had to read
from these everyday.  We studied meditation, yoga poses, anatomy, and yoga philosophies.
We were also asked to meditate 20 minutes per day.

Here is me outside of BE Hot in St. George, Utah.  This is where I
spent my Friday's and Saturday's for eight weeks.

Our very last day of class, we went to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend a 3 hour hip opening
workshop at TruFusion, a state of the art yoga studio.  In the photo from left to right is
Zeek Vincent (the instructor at TruFusion), Blake (classmate), Keesha (classmate), Callie (classmate), JT Brown (BeHot instructor), me, and Leann (classmate).

After the hip opening workshop, we went to Baba Gee's home to learn and practice meditation.
He is a yoga guru and was so fascinating to listen to.
He and his wife also made us delicious, authentic Indian food.

Here is my certificate I received through BE Hot.
